Admission through lottery in government schools suspended

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education has temporarily suspended the online lottery for student admissions in government secondary schools across the country for the 2021 academic year. Students were to be selected for admission through online lottery on December 30.

On Tuesday (December 29) night, the Dirctorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (DGSHE) Professor Syed Md. Golam signed notification disclosed said this information.

Due to the Covid-19 situation, the date for the selection of students for the admission of students from 1st to 9th class in government secondary schools across the country in the 2021 academic year was fixed on December 30, 2020 through online lottery. But due to the ongoing writ petition of the High Court Division, the 'Digital Lottery Program' to be held on December 30 has been temporarily suspended.

The date and time of the online lottery will be announced later, the notification said.

 In fact, after receiving the approval of the Ministry of Education on December 11, DGSHE issued a notification for online lottery admission in the 2021 academic year.
