The final list of freedom fighters will be published on March 26, said Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque.
He made the remarks after inaugurating the newly constructed three-storey building of Kalakair Government Primary School No. 37 in Kalakair area of Gazipur metropolis on Saturday (January 9) afternoon.
Mozammel Haque said, "The list of freedom fighters will be published in the first week of February and 30 days will be given." It will be seen whether anyone has any objection in this regard. If there is no objection, I will publish the final draft by February 28. The final list will be published on March 26.
He added, "If anyone is under investigation for verification, their names will be removed from the list initially." However, if they are considered as freedom fighters at the end of the investigation, their names will be added to the final list later.
Khorshed Alam Sarkar, Councilor of Ward No. 13 of the city, was also present at the function presided over byAwami League Presidium Member of the Awami League and Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Lt. Colonel (Retd.) Muhammad Farukh Khan, Gazipur City Corporation Mayor Jahangir Alam, Summit Group Vice Chairman Latif Khan, District Primary Education Officer Mofazzal Hossain, headmaster of the school Farzana Akhter and others.
