Corona vaccination begins today, Runu to get first shot

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the corona vaccination program on Wednesday (January 27) to get rid of the deadly coronavirus. First of all, a nurse of Kurmitola General Hospital in Dhaka will be vaccinated. Her name is Runu Beronica Costa. She is a senior staff nurse at Kurmitola General Hospital.

It is learned that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the vaccination program through a video conference on Wednesday (January 27) afternoon. Today, on the first day, 25 people will be vaccinated against coronavirus.

The registration process will be launched through the mobile app and web application of the 'Suraksha' platform of immunization management. All those who want to be vaccinated must register online.

Preparations are underway to vaccinate 400 to 500 people at five hospitals in Dhaka from Thursday (January 28). And mass vaccination will start across the country in the first week of February.

The five hospitals to be vaccinated are Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University(BSMMU), Kurmitola General Hospital, Mugda General Hospital and Kuwait Maitri Hospital. Booths have been set up at specific places for vaccination in these hospitals.

In addition, the hospitals have made arrangements to provide them with health care in the event of post-vaccination monitoring and side-effects.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday (January 26) at noon, the Drug Administration issued a certificate of suitability for the use of the vaccine. As a result, there was no longer any obstacle to the application of the 70 lakh four thousand doses of Covishield vaccine invented by Oxford-AstraZeneca and produced at the Serum Institute of India.
