Four passengers of a CNG-driven autorickshaw were killed when a truck hit it in Sherpur. Two more passengers of the autorickshaw were injured.
The accident took place at around 8:30 am on Sunday (January 31) in Bajitkhila Mirzapur area of Sherpur-Jhenaigati road in Sadar upazila. Three people were killed on the spot in the accident. Another died later while undergoing treatment.
The identities of the dead were not immediately known. Locals seized the killer truck, but its driver and helper escaped.
Sherpur Sadar Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed the accident and said the killer truck had been brought to the police station.
