Bangladesh will take legal action against Al -Jazeera for its investigative report 'All the Prime Minister's Men' that spread false and misleading information, the foreign minister AK Abdul Momen said.
He told reporters at the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday (February 3).
The foreign minister said that although he was thinking of taking legal action in the light of Al- Jazeera's report, there was no decision to stop broadcasting the channel in Bangladesh.
David Bergman, son-in-law of Bangladesh, the chief commentator of this report, has recently joined it.
The person identified in the report as the bodyguard of the Prime Minister is a huge factual error. Sheikh Hasina never carries a personal bodyguard.
The foreign minister said they were induced by extremists and their allies working in London or elsewhere. The Government of Bangladesh is moving forward on the path of extraordinary socio-economic development and progress. However, Al-Jazeera has promoted it with the aim of destabilizing such a democratic country. The foreign minister said that they selectively spread such propaganda against Muslim countries.
