To protect the people of the country against the coronavirus, mass vaccination is scheduled to begin on February 7. People of different professions in the front line will get at the beginning of mass vaccination. However, the government has urged everyone to register online before getting the vaccine. For this, an app called 'Surokkha App’ has been created. But those who are interested in getting vaccinated are less likely to respond to online registration.

The government wanted to vaccinate 60 lakh people against coronavirus in the first month, but amended it to reduce it to 35 lakh. Those who get the vaccine in the first month will get the second dose in the third month.

As of last Wednesday (February 3), 80,000 people, including people from different walks of life, have registered to get vaccinated, the Additional Director General of Health Prof. Nasima Sultana told the BBC,Which is only 2.29 percent of the revised target of 35 lakh doses.

Meanwhile, by mid-2021, 1 crore 28 lakh people in the country are expected to receive the dose of the vaccine under the Covax program.

Dr. Nasima Sultana said registration is less because the number of people diagnosed with coronavirus in the country has decreased. For this reason, many may think that he will no longer be infected. Not interested in getting vaccinated for this. However, we encourage everyone to get vaccinated. However, the initial registration rate was a bit low but it has increased in the last few days.

Health officials will go to the homes of those who are unable to register for the vaccine and help them register for the vaccine, the Health Department official said.

She added: "Many people may not be able to apply for the vaccine online. So we decided that now the health workers who go from house to house for various vaccination activities or to provide health services will help them to register their vaccines.

Apart from this, those who work in the information center of the village or union will also help in the registration of vaccine, she said.

How to register online:

Those interested in getting vaccinated can register by visiting the surokkha platform's web application (www.surokkha.gov.bd) or downloading the app on mobile. The app can be downloaded for free. After registration, it will be known from there, when to get vaccinated.

People under the age of 18 cannot register for the vaccine. This is because there has been no clinical trial of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine on minors.
