Corona vaccination will begin simultaneously across the country, including the capital Dhaka, from Sunday (February 7). On this day, a total of 1,005 hospitals across the country, including 50 in Dhaka, will start administering the Covid-19 vaccine simultaneously.
The Directorate of Health said 204 teams in 50 hospitals in the capital including 2400 teams would work on the vaccination across the country.
According to the directorate, so far more than 328,000 people across the country have registered for the corona vaccine through the Suraksha website.
Registered people will be able to get vaccinated at the outdoor of the hospital from 8 am to 2.30 pm at each center. The Directorate of Health is satisfied with the preparation of vaccination program that is going to start across the country.
Meanwhile, those who will be vaccinated on Sunday (February 7) will receive a text message on their mobile phones by Saturday.
On February 4, Abdul Mannan, secretary of the health ministry's health services department, said 35 lakh people would be vaccinated in the first phase. And for this the government has 70 lakh vaccines.
Health Minister Zahid Malek will receive the Covid-19 vaccine on the first day of the nationwide vaccination program. He will be vaccinated at the Gastroliver Institute and Hospital in the capital.
On last January 27, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the country's first corona vaccine program. The next day, 541 people were initially vaccinated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Kurmitola General Hospital, Kuwait Friendship Hospital, Mugda General Hospital and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). Of which 296 are doctors, 32 are nurses and 208 are from other professions.
On last February 4, the Health Services Division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said in a letter that arrangements have been made in various hospitals so that important people including ministers, state ministers, deputy ministers and secretaries can get vaccinated on the first day of the program. Opportunities and arrangements for spot registration for vaccination have also been made.
However, before February 7, it is requested to complete the registration through security apps and get the vaccine in a short time. This arrangement will only apply to February 7. Later, important people including ministers, state ministers, deputy ministers and secretaries will be able to get the vaccine at the hospital of their choice.
