Around 15 lakh families across the country are getting Tk 2,500 each eid gift from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through postal department's mobile financial service Nagad.
Nagad will distribute the money to enlisted families who have lost jobs due to Covid-19 pandemic by G2P method.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated the cash assistance distributing program through video conference from her official residence Ganobhaban in the capital by giving eid gift to 15 families of Bhola Chattogram and Joypurhat district on Sunday (May 2).
Prime Minister's Principal Secretary Ahmad Kaikaus moderated the program while deputy commissioners of the respective districts and beneficiary families attended.
A total of 11,000 families received the PM's eid gift on the first day of inauguration.
