Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said Awami League always stand by the distressed people during any disaster and natural calamity.
She said, "We have stood by the people in a hurry during any disaster even when we were in the opposition. But, who are speaking against the government and creating anarchy in the country where they are during this crisis?"
The Premier said this while inaugurating the cash assistance distributing program through video conference from her official residence Ganobhaban in the capital by giving eid gift to 15 families of Bhola Chattogram and Joypurhat district on Sunday (May 2).
Prime Minister's Principal Secretary Ahmad Kaikaus moderated the program while deputy commissioners of the respective districts and beneficiary families attended.
She said the government is giving assistance with the help of Awami League leaders and activists and urged all to stand beside the corona affected people.
Around 15 lakh families across the country are getting Tk 2,500 each eid gift from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
