Lockdown extended to May 16, gazette issued

The government has issued a gazette notification, extending the ongoing lockdown till midnight on May 16 in a bid to contain the transmission of corona infection.   

The cabinet division issued the gazette notification on Wednesday (May 5).

It said the inter-district bus service will remain suspended till May 16. But the public transports will be allowed to ply inside cities and districts following hygiene rules from 6 May. Besides, train and launch services will also remain suspended during the period.

The shopping mall, shops will remain open as per previous schedule from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm maintaining proper hygiene rules. If there is any negligence in health guidelines, the market will be shut down, added the gazette notification.

It also said officials and employees of all government, non-government, autonomous offices and banks, financial institutions will not be allowed to leave their area of work during the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday.
