In the current Corona situation, the ban has been extended till May 16. Among them, public transport is being launched from Thursday (May 06). However, long-distance and inter-district public transport will be closed.

The information was given in a circular signed by Bangladesh Road Transport Authority Director Engineer Shitangshu Shekhar Biswas on Wednesday (May 5).

The notification has given five-point instructions.

The instructions are

> No additional fair can be collected from the adjusted rent (60% increase of the existing fair) in any way.

> At the beginning and end of the trip, the vehicle should be disinfected with disinfectant.

> Transportation related motor vehicle drivers, other workers, employees and passengers must wear mandatory masks and ensure the use of hand sanitizers.

In addition, the owners' association has given several instructions to the transport owners, workers and passengers to abide by the hygiene rules. These are that no passenger can be picked up without a mask. The owner of the vehicle will provide masks to the workers of the vehicle. Half the seats of the passenger vehicle should be left empty. That means you will sit in a row of two seats one by one. No passengers can be transported standing. Ordinary owners and workers are already in trouble due to the lockdown. In this case no GP (gate pass) can be collected in the name of transport association or company.

The Cabinet Division on Wednesday issued a circular extending the ongoing ban on corona infection till May 16. According to the notification, inter-district public transport will remain closed. However, after May 5, subject to proper hygiene, public transport can be operated within the district.
