Police need to work following ethics: IGP

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. Benazir Ahmed said the police must fulfill their responsibilities by upholding ethics and values towards the profession.

He made the remarks while handing over rank badges to newly promoted officers to the post of Superintendent of Police at the police headquarters on Thursday (May 6).

He said there is nothing in life that is beyond policing. So you have to work as a policeman with love and pride. Bangladesh Police is one of the organizations of the government for the internal security of the country and the security of life and property of the people. We have to work to protect the honor and dignity of this organization.

The IGP further said that a police job is a profession where there are immense opportunities to serve for the welfare of the country and the people. There is nothing in life that is beyond policing. So you have to work as a policeman with love and pride. You must be ready to face any challenge and take responsibility.

Congratulating the newly promoted officers, Benazir Ahmed said, "It is a great honor and joy not only for you but also for your family members." Your journey has just begun, you have to go far. You have to prepare yourself to cross the long distance. The good must be accepted, the bad must be rejected.

The function was also attended by Additional IG Md. Moinur Rahman Chowdhury, DMP Commissioner Moha. Shafiqul Islam, CID Additional IG Barrister Mahbubur Rahman and SB chief Monirul Islam and others.
