Police arrested 40 people from various spots of the capital on charge of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Barta24.com on Saturday (May 8).
Police arrested them from 6:00 am on Friday to Saturday morning with drugs as part of their regular drive.
A total of 9,846 pieces of yaba, 145 gram heroine and 9.45 KG hemp and 52 bottles phensedyl were seized from their possessions.
Thirty one cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under narcotic control act.
