Ferry services on the Daulatdia-Paturia route have been suspended on Saturday (May 8) morning, causing immense sufferings to hundreds home-bound people ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.
More than two hundred small cars and motorcycles stuck at Daulatdia end due to sudden suspension of ferry services.
Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Daulatdia branch assistant general manager Firoz Sheikh confirmed the matter to Barta24.com.
Firoz Sheikh said they suspended ferry services from morning as per the government direction. However, emergency services and goods laden vehicles will ply in time, he added.
