A Dhaka court has ordered to send Mamunul Haque, joint secretary general of defunct Hefazat-e-Islam and Shishu Bakta Rafiqul Islam Madani to jail after their remand in two cases filed with Paltan police station.
Dhaka Metropolitan magistrate Nivana Khayer Jessy has passed the order after the hearing on Monday (May 8).
Earlier on May 4, the police produced him in the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court after remand. At that time, the police appealed for a 10-days remand in a case filed with Paltan police station in connection with the Baitul Mukarram mayhem in March. The court granted a 4-day remand after the hearing.
The police, on the other hand, sought a 7-days remand in another case filed with the Paltan police station in connection with the same incident. The court granted a 2-day remand after the hearing.
