Health directorate recommends controlling the journey of Eid returnees

The coronavirus infection of the country is going down a lot by increasing the lockdown from time to time. However, lakhs of people have gone to the village without following the hygiene rules during the Eid holidays. Experts fear that the infection will increase at a huge rate. That is why the Directorate of Health has recommended controlling the return journey of Eid.

Director General of the Health Prof. Dr. ABM Khurshid Alam told reporters after visiting Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Friday (May 14).

The DG of Health said that the way people went home in crowds by ignoring the hygiene rules on the occasion of Eid to control coronavirus infection. It has been recommended to delay their return journey. Later, appropriate measures should be taken to return them.

"We are on high alert to ensure that variants from other countries, including India, do not enter our country," he said. But it needs the cooperation of all. If a situation like India's is created in our country, the situation will be fragile.

Meanwhile, the lockdown period announced by the government is coming to an end on May 18. However, the government said the lockdown could be extended for another week.

According to a press release issued by the Directorate of Health on Friday (May 14), 26 people have died and 848 have been identified as positive in the last 24 hours in corona. So far, a total of 12,102 people have died in Corona in the country and a total of 7,79,535 people have been infected with the virus.
