Cyclone ‘Josh’ could hit the coast on May 26

The meteorological department has said that cyclone 'Josh' created in the Bay of Bengal could hit the coast of Bangladesh by May 26. According to the agency, a light depression is expected in the area near the Andaman Islands in the Bay of Bengal by Saturday. The light depression could turn into a depression and cyclone tomorrow, Sunday. It could hit the southwest coast of the country on the night of May 25 or May 26.

The cyclone has been named 'Josh'. The name was given in advance of the storm from the World Meteorological Organization. Oman meteorologists have named the storm. In Oman, ‘Josh’ means despair.

 Meanwhile, two days before the low depression in the Bay of Bengal, i.e Saturday and Sunday, the feeling of scorching heat will increase in most parts of the country, including the capital. During the day the temperature rises and the swelling may spread. As a result, the countrymen will have to suffer from the heat. However, clouds and rain may increase from May 25. In that case the temperature will go down and it can reduce the heat.

Meteorologist Abdul Mannan at the Meteorological Department said the light depression could turn into a cyclone by Saturday and reach the coasts of Bangladesh and West Bengal in India. It is unknown how strong it (cyclone) will be at the time of strike.

The highest temperature in the country on Friday was 39 degrees Celsius in Khulna. The temperature in the capital rose to 36 degrees Celsius. Mild to moderate heat waves prevailed in Rajshahi, Khulna, Chittagong and Dhaka divisions; which may continue on Saturday. At the same time there may be nor’wester in some places of the country.
