Police arrested 44 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Barta24.com on Saturday (May 22).
Police arrested them from 6:00 am on Friday to Saturday morning with drugs as part of their regular drive.
A total of 2,447 pieces of yaba, 56 gram heroine, 29.45 gram hemp, 40 liter local liquor and 26 bottles phensidyls were seized from their possessions.
Thirty two cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under narcotic control act.
