State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr. Enamur Rahman has said cyclone `Yass’ will not affect Bangladesh coastal areas as it is not so strong so far.
He said all necessary preparations have been taken to face cyclonic storm `Yass’.
The state minister said this to journalists after an inter-ministerial meeting at Bangladesh Secretariate on Monday (May 24).
Disaster Management and Relief Ministry Secretary Mohammad Mohsin was present at that time.
The State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief said all preparations at coastal areas have already been completed to tackle cyclonic storm Yass.
Cyclone shelter centers, medical teams and volunteers have kept prepared under the supervision of deputy commissioners. Post cyclone food assistance also kept ready, he added.
