The President of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly Mr. Volkan Bozkır, will travel to Bangladesh and Pakistan, from 25 to 27 May.
In Dhaka, the President will be received by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and meet bilaterally with Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, said a media release from UN Bangladesh on Monday (May 24).
The President will also deliver remarks to the Foreign Services Academy. His statement will address the current international context – with a focus on global crises and emergencies – and reflect on the state of multilateralism and the United Nations system. The President will also meet with the United Nations Country Team.
While in Bangladesh, the President will also travel to Cox’s Bazar to meet with Rohingya refugees. He will be briefed on and observe the vital work undertaken by UN Resident Coordinator and the UNHCR Representative.
