Cyclone Yaas has crossed the Indian coast. It has now weakened further to the northwest and turned into a strong cyclone.

It said the maximum sustained wind speed within 84 km of the strong cyclone center was 89 km per hour, increasing to 117 km in the form of gusts or gusty wind. The sea is rough.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall in Khulna, Satkhira, Bagerhat, Pirojpur, Jhalokati, Barguna, Patuakhali, Barisal, Bhola, Noakhali, Laxmipur, Feni, Chandpur and Chattogram districts and their remote islands and chars may be experienced. The low tide in Khulna, Satkhira, Bagerhat, Jhalokati, Pirojpur, Barguna, Patuakhali, Barisal, Bhola, Noakhali, Laxmipur, Feni, Chandpur and Chattogram districts may be 3 to 6 feet higher than the normal tide.
The special bulletin also said that all fishing boats and trawlers in the North Bay have been asked to remain in safe shelter until further notice.
