Soybean oil price has been increased again in the country's market. The price of soybean oil has gone up by Tk. 9 per liter. As a result of this increase in price, one has to pay Tk. 153 per liter to buy bottled soybean oil.
The Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vanaspati Manufacturers Association, an organization of oil refiners and marketers, said on Thursday (May 28th).
From now on, a liter of bottled soybean oil will be sold at Tk. 153, up from Tk. 144 so far, the organization said in a statement. In addition, a five-liter bottle of oil will be available at Tk.728.
Besides, buyers will be able to buy loose soybean oil at Tk. 129 per liter and palm super oil at Tk. 112 per liter. In this phase, the price of palm oil has been reduced by one taka per liter.
T K Group Director Shafiul Atahar Taslim (Finance and Operations), the leading company marketing edible oil said that the prices in the international market are much higher. It was proposed to the Ministry of Commerce to increase the import price by Tk. 13 per liter. However, the ministry approved the increase of Tk. 9. Oil will be sold at this price from next Saturday.
