In the court of Gazipur Senior Judicial Magistrate Sheikh Nazmun Nahar, Rafiqul Islam Madani has pleaded guilty under Section 164 for making anti-state provocative and arrogant remarks and creating chaos.
He made the confessional statement on Friday (May 28).
Gazipur Metropolitan Police Senior Assistant Commissioner Shubhashish Dhar confirmed the matter on Friday (May 28) afternoon.
Concerned people said that Madani had made a mockery of the government at a waz mahfil on February 10 at a factory premises in Kalmeshwar area of Board Bazar in Gazipur metropolis. RAB arrested Madani from his house in Netrokona on Wednesday, April 7.
Four mobile phones were seized from him during the arrest. Several foreign porn videos were available on these mobiles. The next day, he was handed over to Gachha Metropolitan Police Station.
RAB-1's DAD Abdul Khaleq filed a case at Gachha police station around 2:15 pm on the same day. The court later ordered him sent to jail. RAB-1 was investigating the case.
Besides Gazipur's Gachha and Basan police station, there is a case against him in Dhaka's Tejgaon police station.
