There may be moderate to heavy rains in some parts of the country. The weather forecast till 6 pm on Monday said that light to moderate rain with thundershowers is likely in many parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions and some parts of Khulna, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions and a couple of places in Barisal and Chattogram divisions.
Most of the depression is located in West Bengal and nearby Bangladesh. In the middle of the week, southwest monsoon winds could reach as far as the Teknaf coast.
Meanwhile, a mild heat wave is prevailing over Chandpur, Feni, Maijdee Court, Moulvibazar and Khulna districts and it may subside.
The highest temperature recorded in the country on Sunday was 38.5 degrees Celsius in Maijdee Court and Feni.
The lowest temperature recorded on this day was 24.2 degrees Celsius in Sylhet.
