Police arrested 55 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Barta24.com on Thursday (June 10).
Police arrested them from 6:00 am on Wednesday to Thursday morning with drugs as part of their regular drive.
A total of 996 pieces of yaba, 20 gram heroine, 41.34 kg hemp, 6 bottles phensidyle and 5 liters local liqour were seized from their possessions.
Forty cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under narcotic control act.
