Malnutrition has decreased two-third and poverty rate has been reduced 75 per cent in the country in the last one decade.
Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzak revealed the information at the 42th virtual summit of United Nations Food And Agricultural Organization from his ministry on Tuesday (June 15).
Senior Secretary to the Agriculture Ministry Mohammad Mesbahul Islam, Bangladesh Ambassador to Italy Shamim Ahsan and Economic Councilor Manos Mitro were present.
In the summit, the Agriculture Minister said Bangladesh has achieved self-sufficiency in food security and nutrition development and the per capita income of the country is increasing gradually.
The minister also said Asia and Pacific Regional Conference of Food and Agricultural Organization will be held in Dhaka during March 8 to 11 in 2022.
