The total number of sanctioned posts in the administration is 18 lakh 85 thousand 868. Of these, 15 lakh 4 thousand 913 are working in posts. There are a total of three lakh 80 thousand 955 posts are vacant.
This information was revealed from the book 'Statistics of Civil Officers and Staffs-2020' in the statistics and research cell of the Reform and Research Division of the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday (June 15). The book is based on the statistics of public administration officials and employees for the year 2020.
It said of the vacancies, there are 46,603 first class, 39,026 second class, one lakh 95,902 third class and 99,422 fourth class posts.
Five thousand 68 out of 17 thousand 739 posts at the ministry and division level are vacant; two lakh 33 thousand 337 out of 14 lakh 9 thousand 626 posts at the autonomous and directorate level are vacant. There are 14,851 posts vacant in the offices of Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Upazilla Nirbahi Officer and Assistant Commissioner (Land), out of 47,033 posts.
Till last December, out of 4, 11,470 posts in the autonomous organizations and corporations, 1,27,700 posts were vacant.
