Police arrested 49 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Barta24.com on Saturday (June 26).
Police arrested them from 6:00 am Friday to Saturday morning with drugs as part of their regular drive.
A total of 1,522 pieces of yaba, 250.4 gram heroine, 2 bottles phensidyle and 25.950 kg hemp were seized from their possessions.
Thirty seven cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under narcotic control act.
