Social media monitoring committee formed

The government has set up a committee to monitor whether the guidelines for the use of social media in government institutions are being followed properly. The Ministry of Public Administration issued an office order in this regard on Sunday.

 The order signed by Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Pulic Administration Enamul Haque said that the circular of Rule-4 branch was issued on May 7, 2020 to follow the guidelines for use of social media in government institutions, 2019 (revised version). A five-member committee has been set up to review whether government officials and employees are implementing the directives.

Joint Secretary of the Administration Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration Abul Hasnat Humayun Kabir has been made the chairman of the committee. Besides, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Kazi Mohammad Saiful Islam, ASM Mustafizur Rahman and Khalid Mehedi Hasan have been included as members. Senior Assistant Secretary of the same ministry Abdus Salam Chowdhury has been made the member- secretary of the committee.

According to the terms of reference of the committee, the committee will monitor and review whether the circular dated May 7, 2020 of Rule-4 branch is being implemented properly and if any officer-employee disobeys the instructions, it will review and inform the higher authorities.
