Despite the demands of various social organizations to extend the period of relaxation to prevent uninterrupted return to work, control of road accidents and crowds at the end of Eid, strict restrictions are starting from July 23 as per the pre-announced date.
State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain told the media on Wednesday (July 21) night.
Responding to a question from reporters about the relaxation of restrictions, the state minister said the period of relaxation of restrictions is no longer increasing. Strict restrictions will be in place for 14 days from July 23 to prevent corona infection. "If we abide by the restrictions for these 14 days, there is a possibility of reducing the infection," he said.
On July 13, the Cabinet Division issued a notification regarding the restrictions:
>> All government, semi-government, autonomous and private offices will be closed.
>> Public transport by road, rail and waterways (including domestic aircraft) and all types of vehicles will be closed.
>> All shops including shopping malls / markets will be closed.
>> All tourist centers, resorts, community centers and recreation centers will be closed.
>> All kinds of industries will be closed.
>> Public gatherings such as social wedding ceremonies (walima), birthdays, picnics, parties, etc. Political and religious ceremonies will be closed.
>> Bangladesh Supreme Court will issue necessary instructions regarding courts.
>> Bangladesh Bank / Financial Institutions Department will issue necessary instructions to ensure the services of bank-insurance / financial institutions.
>> Government employees will be in their respective workplaces and will complete the official work virtually (e-documents, e-trading, e-mail, SMS, WhatsApp and other means).
>> Law and order and emergency services, such as agricultural products and materials (fertilizers, seeds, pesticides, agricultural machinery, etc.), transport / sale of food grains and foodstuffs, relief distribution, healthcare, Covid-19 vaccination, National Identity Card (NID) Payment Activities, Revenue Collection Functions, Electricity, Water, Gas / Energy, Fire Service, Telephone & Internet (Public-Private), Media (Print & Electronic Media), Private Security, Postal Services, Banks, Visa Activities, City Employees and vehicles of Corporation / Municipality cleaning, street light management etc., social security programs, pharmacy and other essential / essential products and services related to pharmaceuticals and vehicles will be able to travel subject to display of institutional identity card.
>> Finance department will give necessary instructions to keep the office of accounting officer open at divisional, district and upazilla level.
>> Trucks, lorries / covered vans / vessels / freight trains / ferries engaged in transporting emergency goods will be exempted from the ban.
>> Ports (air, sea, naval and land) and related offices will be exempted from this prohibition.
>> Kitchen market and daily necessities can be traded from 9 am to 3 pm in accordance with the hygiene rules. The concerned trade organization / market authority / local administration will confirm the matter.
>> Unless there is an urgent need (buying medicine and daily necessities, medical services, burial / hybridization of corpses, etc.) in any way cannot be out of the house. Legal action will be taken against those who disobey the instructions.
>> You can travel for vaccination subject to display of vaccination card.
>> Food shops, hotels-restaurants will be able to sell food (online / takeaway) from 8 am to 8 pm.
>> International flights will continue and foreign passengers will be able to travel using the car by displaying their international travel ticket proofs.
>> The Ministry of Religious Affairs will give instructions regarding prayers in the mosque following the hygiene rules.
>> The Armed Forces will deploy the required number of troops to ensure effective patrols in the field under the ‘Army in Aid to Civil Power’ provision. The district magistrate will confirm the matter by contacting the local army commander.
