Bangladesh will receive 2,45,000 doses of Oxford-Astra Zeneca vaccine as the first consignment from Japan today under COVAX facilities.
Twenty six lakh more vaccines might come in next week.
Foreign ministry said it will receive the vaccine at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport while a Cathay Pacific Airways carrying the jabs is scheduled to land here around 3:00 pm.
Bangladesh has so far received 1.2 crore doses of AstraZeneca vaccine from the Serum Institute of India.
