Three people including the driver of a covered van were killed as a covered van hit a tractor in Chandina upazila of Cumilla on Thursday morning.
The deceased were identified as worker Nurul Islam, 40, son of Abdul Jalil of Harikula village under Chandina village, worker Foizar Rahman, 40, son of Abdul Khalek of Rangpur and covered van driver Liton Mia, 40.
Eyewitnesses said a covered van overturned after hitting a tractor on Dhaka-Chattagram highway leaving them dead on the spot and on the way to hospital.
Confirming the matter Iliotganj highway police outpost in-charge Ziaul Haque Chowdhury said police recovered the bodies and trying to rescue the rammed tractor.
