All types of trains, including intercity and local, which have been closed for a long time due to coronavirus, will be fully operational from Thursday (August 19). At the same time, the closed Demo train will also start running.
This information has been given in a notification signed by the senior information officer of the railway ministry Shariful Alam on Tuesday (August 17).
It said 36 pairs of intercity trains had started operating from August 11 due to relaxation of restrictions. Another 12 pairs of intercity trains will start running from Thursday.
20 pairs of commuters and other local trains started running from August 11. From next Thursday, 24 more pairs of commuter, local and demo trains will start running with him.
However, for the time being, 9 local trains of the railway will remain closed.
These include: Isa Khan Express on Dhaka-Mymensingh route, Jalalabad Express on Chittagong-Sylhet route, Kushiyara Express on Akhaura-Sylhet route, Laksam commuter on Chandpur-Laksam route, Noakhali commuter on Laksam-Noakhali route. Besides, one local train each on Chittagong-Dohazari, Mymensingh-Dewanganj, Mymensingh-Bhairab Bazar and Sylhet-Chhatak routes will remain closed.
