The court has imposed ban on leaving the country of five officials of e-commerce platform e-Orange.

Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury of the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court passed the order on Wednesday (August 18) following a police prayer.

The five people banned by the court are Sonia Mehzabin of e-Orange and her husband Mashukur Rahman, Amanullah, Bithi Akhter and Kauser Ahmed. Amanullah has been arrested. Bithi Akhter and Kauser are fugitives.

Earlier, a case was filed against e-Orange at Gulshan Police Station on Tuesday (August 17) for embezzling Tk. 1,100 crore of one lakh customers. After filing the case, the court ordered Sonia Mehzabin and her husband Masukur Rahman, two owners of e-Orange, to jail on the same day.

The plaintiff in the case, Taherul Islam, alleged that he had paid Tk. 17 lakh to e-Orange for purchasing goods at different times since April 26. They did not deliver the product even after the stipulated time. If you go to the office of the organization and want to know about it, they will be provided in a few days. But they embezzled Tk. 1,100 crore from about one lakh customers without supplying the products.
