State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief, Dr. Enamur Rahman said you must be alert that under no circumstances BNP-Jamaat activists can intrude in Awami League.
He made the remarks while attending a discussion meeting and Doa mahfil on Saturday (August 21) afternoon on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of the August 21 grenade attack organized by Ashulia Thana Awami League in Jamgarh area of Ashulia.
Dr. Enamur Rahman said that after independence, the defeated forces of the liberation war had joined the JSD, Communist Party, Mawlana Bhasani and Siraj Sikder and created lawlessness and anarchy in the country. Similarly, they are still trying to create instability in the country by infiltrating the party and destroying the Awami League.
At the same time, the State Minister said that their successors carried out a horrific grenade attack on Bangabandhu Avenue on August 21, 2004 in the same way that the defeated forces of independence in 1975 and the anti-liberation forces wanted to nullify the leadership. Their attack killed 24 people, including Ivy Rahman, the then president of the Bangladesh Mahilla Awami League. By the grace of Allah, the then Leader of the Opposition and current Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina survived. More than a thousand leaders and activists were injured in the attack.
He further said that the party should be organized with family members of Awami League family members, children of freedom fighters, family members of those who did politics with Bangabandhu and Sheikh Hasina. The new generation should be taught Bangabandhu's ideology and Sheikh Hasina's philosophy. In order to deal with the conspiracies of evil forces, the number of members of the party must be increased; the strength of the party must be enhanced by organizing the leaders and workers. Only then will Bangladesh move forward and become a successful state.
The State Minister read out a significant part of the verdict of the case of horrific August 21 attack to the leaders and activists. Later, prayers were offered in memory of the victims of the horrific grenade attack.

Shahadat Hossain Khan, Yarpur Union Parishad Chairman Syed Ahmed Bhuiyan (Master), Shimulia Union Parishad Chairman Azharul Islam Sujan, Ashulia Union Parishad Chairman Shahab Uddin Madbar, Pathalia Union Parishad Chairman Parvez Dewan, Yarpur Union Awami League President Prof Abdul Qadir Dewan, General Secretary Mojibur Rahman Shahed, President of Ashulia Union Awami League Amjad Hossain Sarkar, Convener of Ashulia Thana Juba League Kabir Hossain Sarkar, President of Ashulia Thana Swechchhasebak League Shahidullah Munshi, Joint Convener of Ashulia Regional Committee of Labor League Sanaullah Sunny.
Moinul Islam, joint convener of Ashulia Thana Juba League, Sumon Ahmed Bhuiyan, member of Ashulia Thana Awami League and others were present at the discussion meeting and prayer mahfil. Chairman of Dhamsona Union Parishad Saiful Islam conducted the program. After the discussion and prayers, food was distributed among the leaders and workers present in the evening.
