The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police has rescued the two children of a Japanese mother following an appeal to the High Court.

CID Additional Superintendent of Police Jisanul Haque confirmed the information on Sunday (August 22). However, he did not say when or from where they were rescued.

"We have rescued two girls aged 10 and 11," he said. However, it has not been brought to the CID office yet.

To get back her two children from her ex-husband Sharif Imran of Bangladeshi origin American married Dr. Nakano Erico, a Japanese citizen. Sharif Imran took away their two daughters to Bangladesh. At this Erico came to Bnagladesh and filed a writ to High Court to get back her daughters. Following the hearing of Nakano Erico's writ petition, the High Court on last Thursday ordered the two children to be produced on August 31.

The court also issued a rule asking why it would not be illegal to bring a child in violation of Japanese law.

According to court sources, on July 11, 2008, the Japanese citizen Dr. Nakano Erico and Bangladeshi-American Sharif Imran were married under Japanese law. After marriage they started living in Tokyo. Three daughters were born in the family in 12 years. They are Jasmine Malika (11), Laila Lina (10) and Sania Hena (7). Erico is a physician by profession. The three daughters were students at the American School in Japan (ASJI) in Chofo City, Tokyo.

On January 17, 2021, Imran filed for divorce from his wife Erico. Then on January 21, Imran appealed to the school authorities to take his daughter Jasmine Malika away. But because Erico did not agree, the school authorities rejected his request.

Later, on the way home in a school bus, Imran took their two eldest daughters Jasmine and Lina to another rented house from the bus stop. Four days later, on January 25, Imran, through his lawyer, applied to Erico to hand over the children's passports. But Erico denied it. On January 28, Erico filed a lawsuit in Tokyo Family Court seeking an interim order for custody of her children. The court ordered a family reunion on February 7, 11 and 14. Imran broke the court order and gave the opportunity to meet their mother and two daughters only once.
