The mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has raided 50 government institutions across the country simultaneously. At that time, 500 people were sentenced to various terms of imprisonment and fine on the charge of brokerage.

From this morning, a nationwide operation was conducted by the Executive Magistrates of the RAB, the Executive Magistrates of the district administration and the executive magistrates of other agencies.
Among the various government service organizations are Dhaka Medical College, Salimullah Medical College, Suhrawardy Medical College, Chittagong Medical College, Rangpur Medical College, National Heart Foundation, various passport offices and BRTA offices.
According to the people involved in the raids, recently some news was published in various news media and social media about the high handedness of brokers in various sectors including health sector, transport sector, passport office, BRTA. The general people were being deprived of the expected services due to the oppression of these brokers. Many times they had to spend a lot more money than the fixed price to get the service. Again, many people were not getting the expected service even after spending more money. As a result, the RAB has stepped up intelligence surveillance against brokers in various sectors across the country. Later on Sunday, 15 battalions of the RAB conducted simultaneous operations against various types of brokers across the country. RAB Executive Magistrates and district administration executive magistrates fined 248 brokers more than Tk. 9 lakh in 68 mobile courts across the country. Besides, 249 brokers were sentenced to imprisonment on different terms. During the preliminary interrogation, the members of the brokerage gang confessed to their crime.
A team of RAB-3 has arrested 30 people on suspicion of being brokers from Dhaka Medical College Hospital area.
After the operation, RAB 3 Executive Magistrate Palash Kumar Bose told reporters that more than 40 people were detained during the operation. After scrutiny, 30 brokers were convicted on the basis of their confessions. They were sentenced to one to three months in prison.
Regarding the simultaneous operation across the country, Commander Khandaker Al Moin, Director, RAB's Law and Media Wing said, "Recently, we have seen an increase in the oppression of brokers at various service organizations." Many victims have been deceived and complained to the RAB. We have also seen in various cyber worlds through the RAB Cyber Monitoring Cell that there is a massive negative propaganda through social media. In addition, the Facebook page run by the RAB headquarters, the RAB online media cell - here too many victims have been deceived and complained to us.
