Another 1.5 crore doses of vaccine is coming in September

Health Minister Zahid Malek said there is no vaccine crisis in the country at the moment.

The health minister made the remarks at an orientation program for newly-appointed junior consultants (anesthesiology) at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Sunday (September 12).

Earlier on Friday (September 10), after inspecting the BDS first year admission test at Titumir Government College in Mohakhali, the health minister told reporters, "We have received a schedule of 50 lakh doses of vaccine every week." On September 10, 50 lakh doses of vaccine will arrive in Dhaka. Thus, four vaccine consignments are expected to arrive in four weeks of this month. 50 lakh doses of vaccine will come in each shipment. It will continue till next November, he said.

So far 4 crore 43 lakh 15 thousand 80 doses of vaccine have arrived in the country. Of these, 3 crore 47 lakh 77 thousand 761 doses have been vaccinated. In other words, there are 95 lakh 37 thousand 319 dose vaccines in stock at the moment. So far, the first dose has been given to 2 crore 9 lakh 22 thousand 715 people and the second dose has been given to 1 crore 38 lakh 55 thousand 46 people.

These are Oxford's AstraZeneca, Chinese-made Sinopharm, Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.
