DU halls to reopen on October 5

The provosts have recommended that all the residential halls of Dhaka University (DU), which have been closed for more than a year and a half due to coronavirus, be reopened on October 5. However, only those who have received at least one dose of the vaccine can get up.

The recommendation was made at a meeting of the Provost Standing Committee of Dhaka University on Wednesday (September 15). The meeting was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of the University. Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman.

A final decision on the recommendation will be made at a meeting of the Academic Council on Thursday (September 16).

At the end of the meeting Dhaka University Proctor Professor AKM Golam Rabbani confirmed the information.

Provost Standing Committee Member Secretary Prof. AKM Golam Rabbani said the committee has recommended that at least one dose of corona vaccine have taken by the Honors fourth year and Masters Students on October 5 be allowed to enter the hall. The entry process will start from 8 am on that day.

He said at least one dose of vaccine must be taken, otherwise they cannot be allowed to enter. They must show vaccination documents.
