Onions will be sold in TCB trucks from today (Sunday, September 19) and will be sold at Tk. 30 per kg.
The information was given in a press release issued by the government marketing agency Trading Corporation of Bangladesh on Saturday (September 18).
According to the notification, buyers will be able to buy onions at the rate of two kg per person.
From the TCB truck, a buyer can now buy a maximum of two liters of soybean oil, two kilograms of sugar and two kilograms of lentils at an affordable price. Now onion is added to the list of selling products.
According to the agency, each truck across the country will be allocated 300 to 600 kg of onions. TCB started selling bottled soybean oil, sugar and lentil pulses at fair prices in the open market from September 4.
Soybean oil is being sold at Tk. 100 per liter and lentil pulses and sugar at Tk. 55 per kg.
