No political program- rally at National Press Club

Authorities unanimously decided that political rallies and programs at the National Press Club would be closed.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the management committee chaired by Farida Yasmin, president of the National Press Club, on Wednesday (October 13). The meeting discussed in detail the chaotic and undesirable events that took place in the club premises on October 10.

It was said in the meeting that the committee is determined to maintain discipline and order in the club in the interest of the club and its members. The interest of the club will be upheld at any cost. The rules and conditions prescribed for the rent of various halls and auditoriums of the club must be complied with.

The meeting was informed that no party's political program in the name of discussion meeting, seminar and rally will be allowed.

The meeting unanimously decided that Jihad Smriti Parishad, Zia Parishad, political rallies and programs of any party would be closed in future. Earlier, the activities of these organizations resulted in chaos and unpleasant incidents in the club. As a result, the reputation and prestige of the traditional press club has been tarnished. All concerned are being informed in this regard and overall cooperation is sought.
