She will take away the sorrow of the followers, spread peace and leave today. The drum of abandonment will sound. Farewell silence will be fought with the bell of the drum. The five-day Durga Puja of the followers of Sanatans will end with the abandonment of idols.
To bid farewell to the mother, the prescribed puja of Dashmi will be celebrated on Friday (October 15) at 9:11 am. After that, for the welfare of the husband, the sadhva women will touch the vermilion on the mother's feet. Later the idol will be abandoned in accordance with the hygiene rules. Considering the situation in Corona, the Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad has instructed to abandon the idol before evening.
Today is a public holiday on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami. Special programs will be broadcast on private television and radio stations including Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar. Newspapers are publishing special supplements.
Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community, started last Monday. After five consecutive days of joyous festivities, the event will end today with the immersion of the Goddess on the day of Vijaya Dashmi. Meanwhile, visiting various puja mandaps in Dhaka, one can see a huge crowd of devotees and visitors. It was crowded from morning till late at night. Devotees have offered offerings at the feet of the goddess and taken prasad. They participated in other events including Arati. The devotees visited the mandaps.
The crowd of worshipers and visitors in the mandaps yesterday was more than any other day. The atmosphere of the mandaps was festive with crowds of people of all ages dressed in new clothes. Mahanabami Kalparambha and Mahanabami Vihit Puja of Goddess Durga are performed at 9:57 am.
According to the Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad, Durga Puja is being performed in 32,118 mandaps across the country this year. Compared to last year, the number of mandaps has increased to 1,905. In Dhaka metropolis, worship is being done in 238 mandaps this year, which is 4 more than last year. The formality of Durgotsab will begin on the sixth day of October 11 with the invitation of the Goddess. The Durgotsab is coming to an end on Friday with the abandonment of the idol on the tenth day.
