10 Covid-19 deaths, 339 new cases recorded in 24 hours: DGHS

A total of 16 people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8:00am Monday, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 27,778 and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.

At least 339 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 15,65,827, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 1.80 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 15.55 percent.

A total of 18,812 samples were tested across the country in the 24 hours. Besides, at least 509 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,28,371 and the recovery rate at 97.61 percent.

Mentionable, the first case of Covid-19 infection was detected in Bangladesh on last March 8, 2020 while the first death occurred on March 18.
