Eid -e-Miladunnabi observed in Faridpur

Eid -e-Miladunnabi, the birth and demise day of prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was observed here today amid festivity.

The state program in this connection was jointly chalked out by district administration and Islamic Foundation included Doa Mahfil and discussion meeting.

The largely attended discussion meeting on the prophet and Islam was held at local Kavi Jasimuddin hall.

The discussion was chaired by ADC(Gen) Dipak Kumer Roy while DC Atul Sarkar was the chief guest. Police Super Md. Alimuzzaman BPM(BAR) and ADC(Education & ICT) Md. Saiful Kabir were present as special guests.

Speakers addressing the gathering stressed the need for avoiding dogmatism in Islam and present the true picture of Islam and the Prophet's teachings. They also stressed to infuse the true spirit of Islam among the young generation where there is no place of militancy and extremism. They also paid rich tributes to the Prophet and urged upon all to follow his ideals for the betterment of whole mankind.

The chief guest DC Atul Sarkar in his speech said that peaceful co-existence of all religions is an important ingredient Islam where there is no killing and destruction of civilization as in present time some unpleasant incidents happened in our country. He stressed the need for prevalence of peace and tranquility in the society to carry on the development activities of present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina that will help to implement the Sonar Bangla as dreamt by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Principal Mahmudul Hassan presented the key –note paper on life and activities of the greatest and last Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

It was also addressed among others by Mowlana Abul Kalam Azad, DD Islamic Foundation Faridpur SK. Akramul Haque, Khatib Abu Zafar Ansar, Mufti Fazlur Rahman Hafez Mowlana Suaiman Faruqi, Professor Md. Shahjahan, Professor M.A. Samad and Professor Rezvi Zaman.

Later on prizes were distributed among the winners of Hamd and Nat –e- Rasul competitions

organized by Shishu Academy at the same venue participated by the children.
