Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called upon the Armed Forces to protect independence and sovereignty as well as enhance the pride of the country by engaging in developmental activities.
The Prime Minister made the call at a reception on the occasion of Armed Forces Day-2021 at Senakunj in Dhaka Cantonment on Sunday (November 21) afternoon.
The Prime Minister said the armed forces have made significant progress in the last 13 years. The capability of the three forces has increased through the addition of sophisticated weapons.
She said that besides defense, the armed forces are also working hard for the socio-economic development of the country. Bangladesh is still number one in the UN mission to establish world peace.
The armed forces formed in the spirit of the war of liberation are the pride of the country.
The Prime Minister said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib had said that Bangladesh Army would be the people's army. I believe that the armed forces, inspired by the ideals of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the spirit of the Liberation War, are the pride of our nation.
Sheikh Hasina said, "The armed forces inspired by the ideology of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the spirit of liberation war will take our nation further. We will walk with dignity in the court of the world.
