A court has issued an arrest warrant against senior BNP joint secretary general Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi in a case under the Special Powers Act of Badda Police Station in the capital.
Judge KM Imrul Kayesh of Dhaka's Senior Special Judge's Court on Thursday (November 25) issued the warrant, taking cognizance of the charge sheet.
Additional Public Prosecutor Tapas Kumar Pal of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court confirmed the matter.
He said the day was set for receiving a charge sheet in a case filed under the Special Powers Act at the Badda police station in the capital in early January 2015. Rizvi did not appear in court that day. The judge took cognizance of the charge sheet and issued an arrest warrant against him.
