Earl Miller, the US Ambassador to Dhaka, will convey Bangladesh's concerns about the ban on 7 former and current RAB officers.

The foreign ministry said in a statement on Saturday (December 11).

The US Ambassador noted the concerns raised by the Bangladesh government and promised to inform Washington. .He agreed that the excellent multilateral relations between the two countries could be further deepened through discussions and high-level visits between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries.

Ambassador Miller noted the attitude of the US Government to work closely with the Government of Bangladesh in the coming days on issues of mutual interest.

Foreign Secretary Masood bin Momen expressed frustration that the US administration had taken this decision unilaterally without any prior consultation with the Bangladesh government.

He noted that the issues raised in the sanctions were in active discussion, with the two sides under regular Foreign Ministry dialogue framework, and now the US reports no earlier discussionsCame without. The Secretary regretted that the US government had decided to weaken an organization that was at the forefront of the fight against terrorism, drug trafficking and other heinous crimes which was consistently considered a priority with the US administration. The Secretary reiterated his regret that the allegations against the RAB had been interpreted for certain reasons, with information on the relevant justice and accountability system not only to the US administration, but also to the UN human rights body more than once the system has also been explained.Secretary Momen said the U.S. decision appeared to be based on unconfirmed allegations of responsibility for the command rather than information related to certain incidents at the local level.

The Foreign Secretary emphasized that the Government of Bangladesh is committed to upholding the rule of law and human rights and maintains a 'Zero Tolerance' approach to any wrongdoing or misconduct by law enforcement agencies.

All uniformed services in Bangladesh follow a set of legal and administrative procedures to deal with allegations of injustice against any of their members and RAB is no exception.

He noted that in many countries, including the United States, human rights have been violated and abused by misleading elements within law enforcement agencies, but with a single ban on high-ranking law enforcement officialsWon't be fair.Foreign Secretary Momen emphasized the need to pursue a path of dialogue, engagement and co-operation, rather than pursuing such a stigma.

He highlighted that next year, the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two friendly countries should pave the way for further expansion of the existing partnership.
