Ekushey award winner journalist Riazuddin Ahmed, and editor of The Financial Herald, is no more (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilahi Raziun).
He died at a hospital in the capital on Saturday (December 25). .Riazuddin Ahmed was 77 years old.
Riazuddin Ahmed's younger brother Colonel (retd) Joynal Abedin confirmed the death. He died at the Covid ICU of United Hospital in the capital around 1.30 pm today.
Recently, Riazuddin Ahmed, who was suffering from corona, was admitted to the hospital. There he was being treated at the Intensive Care Unit.
Riazuddin Ahmed was the founder and editor of The Financial Express and The News Today. .He was also the four-time elected president of the National Press Club and secretary of the undivided Dhaka Journalists Union and president of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists. Riazuddin Ahmed was awarded the Ekushey award in 1993 for his glorious contribution to journalism.
