Community transmission of a new type of coronavirus Omicron has started in the country.
The health minister was responding to a question from reporters after distribution of ambulances and laptops at the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS) building in Mohakhali on Wednesday (January 12).
He said the way the transmission is increasing, it is understood that the community transmission of Omicron has been somewhat. At present 15 to 20 percent of those who got infected by Corona are affected by Omicron. So I think there has been a community transmission.
According to the Directorate of Health, 2,916 people have been newly infected with the coronavirus in the last 24 hours in the country. In contrast to the test, the detection rate has increased to 11.68 percent. The total number of infected in the country increased to 16 lakh 1 thousand 305 people.
