‘The page of the letter is lost, the envelope cannot be found and the book of stamps was worth the ticket! Peon Dada's letter knocking on the door at noon, a lost memory somewhere. '

Like a rhyme, the post-box is now a memory. The long wait for the letter from a loved one will never end. Now there is no need to wait. At the moment digital does not come through. However, there is no such deep thought like before. Before, the mind was drowning in love and affection towards the letter.

The previous handwritten letter was of special importance and full of magic. I would have liked to have received the letter. Nowadays everything has become easier. However, as before, love, feelings are not very much. With the change of time, the traditional post-box is now becoming extinct. There are some post-boxes lying idle in Katiadi of Kishoreganj and some in dilapidated condition.

Once upon a time, in the middle of the night, Runners would run with a hurricane in one hand, a spear in the other, and a water- proof letter bag on the back to deliver a letter. Anything from miscreants, letters and spears were kept in self-defense. Both good and bad were in the news of the letter. If there was good news, the Runner (letter carrier) would be fed whatever good food the receiver had at home. All this is now past. There are a lot of lazy post boxes in Kishoreganj district.

Going to the spot, it was seen that a red post-box was kept in front of the Katiadi post office in Kishoreganj. Some letters still go, but only a small number. Union Post Centers have letter boxes.

Now extinct letter boxes, previously seen at street corners. Letter boxes, letters written on yellow postcards. People used to exchange letters by writing letters and affixing stamps.

Letters were written for a program on Bangladesh Betar. Even 10 years ago, letters were sent to a weekly program on Bangladesh Betar. At that time radio was in vogue. I used to read that letter and listen to it on that radio program. Today is the age of e-mail, it can be said that letters are not in circulation, some memories have been left. Radio with that antenna is not available now.
